Group Bookings
We welcome group bookings to the Walled Garden throughout the season and to the House during a specially extended period for groups. In 2010 this is from 4 May until 30 August.
For groups of 15 or more during daytime opening hours we offer:
- Reduced admission price
- Welcome and introductory talk from the Head Gardener or one of his team
- Free garden leaflet and plant list for each member of the group
- Free admission and refreshments for the coach driver
For an evening visit, a group must number at least 30
A group visit to the Walled Garden usually takes about two hours and if the house tour, which includes access to the surrounding historic gardens, is included we suggest allowing a further hour and a half.
New for 2010! Two group packages, run in conjunction with nearby attractions, are on offer for 2010. One for garden loving groups, in conjunction with Jacksons Wold Garden and one for historic house loving groups in conjunction with Birdsall House. For further details click on the links on the left.
Access for coaches is easy being ½ mile from the A64 Scarborough/Leeds road, 35 minutes east of York and approximately one hour from Hull .The coach park is only 100 yards from the entrance to the garden.
Our excellent restaurant is open during the normal Walled Garden opening hours. This is in a delightful contemporary building, and the restaurant will serve anything for you from morning coffee, light lunches and teas to evening meals. For a group they are happy to provide a good buffet lunch on a self service basis at a very reasonable cost.
