Curators, archivists, and volunteers are all involved in safeguarding and understanding the past, in relation to art collections, archives and the wider history of a house and estate. Dr Ridgeway will talk about researching, understanding and interpreting country house collections, drawing on his experience as a curator at Castle Howard and with the Yorkshire Country House Partnership. 

Dr Ridgway has been curator at Castle Howard for over 30 years and has unrivalled knowledge and passion for the house, its collections and its historical past. A renowned international speaker and author, Chris has entertained groups from all over the world with this history of Castle Howard and insights into its treasures.
