An evening lecture with Penelope Dawson-Brown, President of the Ancient Society of York Florists, the oldest Society of its kind in the country.

A story about The York Florists and their passion to cultivate fashionable flowers for exhibition.

Penelope Dawson-Brown

Penelope Dawson-Brown is a horticulturist and gardener with a keen interest in botanical history and plant conservation. As well as her role as President of the York Florist Society for 25 years, Penelope is a Fellow of the Linnaean Society of London and Trustee and past Chair of the Yorkshire Gardens Trust. She has written many articles for garden magazines and journals and travelled extensively in search or wild flowers.

She lives with her husband on a farm in North Yorkshire where she created a natural garden now in its fourth decade.
