This workshop is a collaboration with Rebecca from Mindful Photography UK who will demonstrate some simple tasks where you can use photography to slow down and take notice of your surroundings. Please bring a fully charged phone/ camera or tablet, whatever you are most comfortable with.
Even if it rains, still come along to learn about the techniques and you can complete the project at home with your family. Enjoy working in the beautiful surroundings of Scampston Conservatory and the neighbouring Walled Garden – plus the tea and cake which is included!
About the Course Leader
From 2009 Rebecca developed her own model for combining photography and well-being for mental health-based partners within the city of York.
She then went on to lead a York ‘Mind’, mental health project in rural North Yorkshire which provided support for up to twenty participants; using creativity to help manage mental health difficulty and reduce social isolation.
Rebecca loves photography, being creative, walking and fresh air - so sharing mindful photography has to be the perfect job for her!
She is trained in Mental Health First Aid, PhotoVoice ™, and is a City and Guilds qualified tutor. She has attained a distinction in the world’s first qualification at Robert Gordon University, in PG Cert Therapeutic Photography.
