Set in 80 acres of beautiful Lancelot 'Capability' Brown parkland, the beautiful regency house with its exquisite interiors and art collection can form the perfect setting for a wide range of filming and photography requirements.
As well as Scampston Hall itself, there are the beautiful gardens, including the award-winning Walled Garden. There are also a wide range of other traditional buildings, which can provide a breadth of back-drop that few other locations can match. Away from the house, the Scampston Estate extends to several thousand acres allowing freedom of access and wide ranging opportunities for all sorts of filming requirements.
Scampston Hall has recently hosted the filming of J. B. Priestley's famous play, An Inspector Calls. The feature length TV drama was made by Drama Republic for the BBC, and starred David Thewlis, Miranda Richardson and Ken Stott. Scampston Hall is superbly located as a central hub for filming, with easy access to the North Yorkshire Moors, the Yorkshire Wolds, the historic City of York and the North Yorkshire Heritage Coastline.
Scampston Hall and its wider grounds can also be hired as a venue for catalogue photo-shoots. Most recently the house and grounds, as well as the Walled Garden, were used by mail-order clothing company Joseph Turner as a location for their photo-shoot.
