Whether you are planning to visit us as an individual or are organising a large group outing, we hope to provide you with all the relevant practical information for an enjoyable and stress-free day.

For directions to find Scampston, please visit How to find us

We have a large carpark, less than 100 yards from the Walled Garden entrance, which also has adequate space for coaches. Disabled car parking is also available, adjacent to the Walled Garden entrance.

Disabled Access

The Walled Garden is flat with good access for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. We have one wheelchair and one mobility scooter which can be borrowed free of charge. We do advise that you ring in advance to pre-book these, especially during the busy summer months. Please call 01944 759111 or email

The Garden Café can accommodate wheelchairs, and there are suitable toilet facilities available.

For those who do not use a wheelchair, there is plenty of seating within the Walled Garden, which allows you to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the various different garden rooms.

For those wishing to join a house tour during the Hall’s opening season, the ground floor is accessible with a manual wheelchair. Regrettably the first floor is not accessible for wheelchair users, however this only makes up a very small part of the tour.

Bringing your dog

Visitors are advised that, with the exception of assistance dogs, dogs are not allowed in the Walled Garden or the Hall Gardens. However, there are routes through the Parkland where you may walk your dogs on leads. Please ask in the Ticket Office on arrival for dog-friendly routes.

If you wish to sit outside the Garden Café for lunch or tea, you are also welcome to bring your dog.

Unfortunately we cannot guarantee parking in shaded areas and therefore recommend that you do not bring your pet with you on a hot day.
