The session is welcoming and informal, with small group sizes to allow for plenty of individual support and tailored advice. Whether you’re using a DSLR, mirrorless camera, compact camera, or even a phone, you’ll be supported at your own level.
We’ll focus on helping you understand your camera better and make more deliberate creative choices, covering topics such as:
- Getting to grips with camera settings (aperture, shutter speed, ISO)
- Composition and framing in garden and outdoor spaces
- Using natural light effectively
- Photographing plants, textures, details, and wider scenes
- Practical tips to improve your images straight away
This is not a rushed or overly technical session. The emphasis is on learning through doing, asking questions, and enjoying the process in a calm, supportive environment. Participants have ranged from children to retired adults, and the workshop is suitable for all ages and experience levels.
By the end of the session, you’ll leave with:
- A clearer understanding of how your camera works
- Greater confidence shooting outdoors
- Practical skills you can immediately apply to your own photography
No prior experience required — just curiosity and a willingness to have a go.
