You will spend the day in the magnificent Richardson Conservatory within the award-winning Scampston Hall Walled Garden. This workshop gives participants all the basic information and skills to learn the technique of wet felting pictures.
Create your very own woodland scene from wool fibres, silks, nepps, yarns and much more. Bring along your own woodland inspirational photograph or you are welcome to use a selection of images that will be provided on the day.
This method of felting uses soap, warm water and agitation to tangle fibres together to create felt. In approximately 6 hours you will learn how to lay out wool fleece, then how to build up layers of other fibres to add texture and detail to your work, finally we work through the wet felting process.
What’s included: All materials, equipment and tuition to support and guide you through the process of wet felting using traditional hand rolling techniques. You will be guided through choosing colours and textures and then the wet felting process. You will take away the work you produce on the day plus PDF notes for reference later. Please notify the Tutor if you have any allergies that should be considered within this context.
