This Summer Embracing Wool’s Exhibition will be held in the Walled Garden Conservatory and showcases the work of its members. It seeks to exhibit the very best of contemporary art and traditional wool craft techniques. Greeted with a warm welcome, come and meet the artists who will be demonstrating their techniques and be happy to chat about their work.
About Embracing Wool
Embracing Wool is a collaboration of artisans from Yorkshire and neighbouring counties. All primarily work with and promote the use of wool as a medium for their artistic work. Wool is a natural and versatile resource, its uses vary from traditional crafts, such as spinning, weaving, felt-making and knitting to its use as a medium in contemporary art, where modern techniques of wet felting and needle felting are nurtured. This group was formed by enthusiastic wool artisans that want to embrace wool to its fullest extent. We provide exhibitions, demonstrations and workshops that encourage people to participate in learning new techniques and in turn push the boundaries of this diverse and exciting medium.
